    Oracle reports that Q1 GAAP EPS rose 15% to 41 cents, while Q1 non-GAAP EPS climbed 11% to 53 cents. At the same time Oracle's trailing 12-month operating cash flow increased 9% to $14.0 billion . President Mark Hurd projected growth in two sectors: 'Exadata, Exalogic, Exalytics and our other engineered systems grew more than 100% in the quarter. For the full year, we expect to double engineered systems sales to well over $1 billion. Oracle's new cloud business is also approaching a $1 billion annual run rate. These two businesses will drive Oracle's growth for years to come.'

    Stefan Hinker announces a revised version of his earlier paper, "Secure Deployment of Oracle VM Server for SPARC." The revision, he writes, was prompted by the novel hardware partitioning capabilities of the Oracle SPARC T4-4, which assigns full PCIe root complexes to domains, mimicking dynamic system domains.
