The team tied for fourth at the U.S . Chess Federation K-12 Chess National Championships after spending five days in Orlando , Fla . After that the team returned home to crown two state champions at the New Mexico K-12 Grade . Championships Leading the way in Florida was senior Bailey Corry . Corry pulled off some big upsets and ended in a tie for 10th among the country†s top elite players . Teammate Tim Martinson wasn†t far behind him , placing 26th . Martinson , according to the New Mexico†s Chess website , is the top-rated scholastic player in the state .
